Luna Moth

Last night, my dad caught a female Luna Moth. She looks like a leaf. Her name is Luna. My dad put it in the little catcher thing you get in that Butterfly Treehouse kit. My cat is rolling on the floor, whacking the net trying to play with her.

I want to tell you about Luna Moths. They turn into adults after they are in cocoons. They only live for another week. Adults don't eat. And to tell if it's a girl, then it has a fat belly which is full of eggs. They are called "luna" because it means moon and they fly around at night.

(This picture is of my Luna.)
