My Favorite Candies

Today, I want to tell you about my favorite candies. Here they are:

1. Cowtales - They are carmel sticks with vanilla filling. It comes in different-sized sticks and different flavors. The round flat ones are called Bulls-eyes.
2. Twizzlers - These are little licorice sticks that are twisted and have a lot of fruity flavors.
3. Starburst - This is block- (or square-) shaped chewy candy, also in fruity flavors.
4. Reese's Pieces - They are peanut butter-filled shells.
5. Dum-Dum Suckers - These are different kinds of blends and flavored suckers.
6. Lifesavers - Lifesavers are doughnut-shaped sucking candy in all kinds of flavors. My favorite flavor is orange.
7. Hot Tamales - This is cinnamon-y, red-hot candy. (My dad loves it, too.)
8. Nerds - Nerds are like little fruity delicous crumbs.
9. Pop Rocks - They're popping, little fruity dots. They jump when they're wet. I hate them on ice cream!
10. Laffy Taffy - I like Laffy Taffy, especially strawberry and banana. It is strips of fruity taffy.

Well, that's all that I can think of. I wanted to tell you I was allergic to chocolate, then I grew out of it. Then, I didn't like it. What is your favorite candy?

Smile

This was Michael Jackson's favorite song called "Smile". It was written by Charlie Chaplin from a movie from the 1930's. It made my mom cry. Here are the lyrics:

Smile
Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through
For you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile what’s the use of crying
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you’ll just
Smile

I like it.

Fireworks Freaks

On Independence Day, we went to the State Fairgrounds to watch some fireworks. There were some geeky nerds there throwing a football and a frisbee in front of cars in the street. Then there was an old lady that we called "Grandma" who stayed in the car while the others in her family went and sat on a bench. She scooted into each of the seats (in the car) to try which one was best. She was sitting backwards to the fireworks. Someone in her family came and got her out. And there was this kid who was not being good. He was screaming and then ran and laid in the road. His mom came and pulled him up, over and over again. He started throwing a temper tantrum. Then his mom lifted him up on the roof of of her car, handed him a Sprite and a sparkler. We gave her the sparklers.

The big final fireworks weren't very good. But as we watched the fireworks, two trains went by. I bet it was fun to watch them from the train. I love the times when they shoot off smiley faces in the fireworks. I love fireworks. They're cool!

Everyone tried to leave at the same time. They were very impatient. We sat in the back of the truck and waited and watched. It was so stupid!

Independence Day

Today is Independence Day - the day that George Washington and some other important men signed "The Declaration of Independence." They signed it to say that the United States of America would not be part of Great Britain. The USA is 233 years old, today.

I'm proud to be an American, because we can all live free. A lot of soldiers fought in that war and other wars and a bunch of them died to protect our freedom. Happy Birthday United States of America!

What did the stars and stripes on the flag say to each other?
They're looking at us, so let's wave! Ha, Ha.

Dog Cooking Tips By Chef Bone

This is Chef Bone. He is giving tips to dogs on how to cook.

1. Be careful not to burn yourself. A stove can set your fur on fire!
2. Let your master deal with the stove.
3. Don't put too much pepper on your dog food. It will make you lick your lips for a couple of hours.

Here are some names of foods I make that are popular: Chicken Bone Soup, Turkey Taters and Beef Tots. I also put a lot of "pup"rika in my recipes and sometimes I get hair in my food - sorry. I love to pat out dough with my paws, front and back. I also love to lick the bowl when I am done. That's all for today, dawgs! "Bone" Appetit!

(She made up a story to go with a photo found on the internet.)

Oil Spills

When oil tankers go to sea, they may crash and leak oil. Then birds or any animal in the water can get oil on them and die. Rescuers go and rescue them and they clean them with a little Dawn dish soap. Don't try to rescue one yourself. You would not know what to do and it could die.

If a bird gets oil on it, it's feathers get matted (malted) together. Then, it cuts off their ability to swim, float and stay warm or cold. They have to have their feathers laying a certain way. Then, they pick and eat off a tiny bit of the oil, because they really want it gone. It messes up their body. It is very sad, because they can die if their feathers aren't just right.

You can go and buy Dawn soap (enter a code from the bottle to donate a dollar: http://www.dawn-dish.com/en_US/savingwildlife/dhlanding.do ) or just give online and you could help an animal. Or you can go on the rescue site and donate: http://www.ibrrc.org/oil_affects.html

Here is a message to the people spilling oil: CUT IT OUT!
