Balto

Balto is the world's greatest dog. He was an Alaskan sled dog and of course, a husky. He saved two children from diptheria and from it spreading. Balto ran in a relay to bring the children the medicine they needed. His team was the second to the last relay-stop. The last relay-stop dog sled team crapped out, so Balto went the rest of the way. It was snowing in Alaska so bad, that they could not travel by train - only by dog sled. The medicine was from Anchorage, Alaska and had to get to Nome. Balto is the bravest! Many lives were saved because of his bravery. This happened in 1925. I bet he got a life long supply of Kibbles and Bits!

The Boston Terrier Stomp

This is one of my dad's favorite videos from America's Funniest Home Videos. I like it, too. We have a Boston Terrier. It is the second one we have had. Her name is Juanita. These dogs are always funny. My dog, Juanita, I bet, would love to tap dance in a birthday cake!
(This is Juanita in one of her Glamour Shots pictures.)

Chuck Chuck Chuck

One day, we went to my dad's work. When we were done, a squirrel ran under our truck. I went to look at it and he ran out. I started to chase it. He ran through the parking lot and up a tree. When I got up to the tree, he was at my head height. The squirrel looked in my eyes and said "Chuck Chuck Chuck". It sounded like "My name is Chuck Chuck Chuck." So I named him Chuck Chuck Chuck. I like him.

I bought this toy (seen in the picture) a few days ago. It reminds me of Chuck Chuck Chuck. I named him Chuck Chuck Chuck. It says his name and you know he's a squirrel. Maybe he's a chipmunk.

80s Video Reviews, #4

It's Monday - time for more video reviews.

"Sweet Dreams" - The Eurythmics
I am not sure what this video is supposed to be about. I guess sweet dreams are about cows. A cow was standing over her when she was on the computer. Then the cow was playing ring-around-the-table. I wonder why that guy was taking pictures of her with his computer?! And why she was out in the field with all the cows, had orange hair , wore a man's suit and was mad and smacked her hand on the table?! Maybe because of the cows. And after her crazy day with cows, maybe she will have sweet dreams, since the video ends with her going to bed.

"Lies, Lies, Lies" - The Thompson Twins
This the most craziest video ever! It has these six feet in a bed in a room and then The Thompson Twins step out of the walls and ceiling. They have the worst hair and one does not even have eyebrows. There is a bunny, a monster in a car and other things like feathers come into the room. It is crazy. I'm not sure what the point of this video is - maybe someone was drinking or something. I think drunk people would make videos like this.

"Total Eclipse of the Heart" - Bonnie Tyler
This video is nuts! Why is it, when she walks though the hall and all the doors open - red curtains come out? Why are there dancing ninjas in the way? And why are there little boys with shining green eyes? Don't ask me! The lady was soft-singing at one time and about to break your ears off the next! It was funny. I think she looks like our new governor. I don't think it is her. We call her Gov Bev (Governor Beverly Perdue, North Carolina.) I don't think that was the Governor's Mansion either.

Carolina Hurricanes

I like the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team from Raleigh. They won their first Stanley Cup in 2006. We went to their party and parade. They threw Carolina Hurricanes foam pucks to all of us in the crowd. I hope they win the Stanley Cup again this year, because my dad says he will buy me a mini Stanley Cup. He promised me one the first time, but he blew it. But I did get a flag and a little hockey stick and puck from Build-a-Bear Workshop. Go Canes!

Char-Grill

Char-Grill is a good restaurant. It is my dad's favorite. They sell hotdogs, hamburgers, sandwiches, BLTs and milkshakes. Their milkshakes are so thick, that you have to let them melt before you can drink them. Mostly people eat in their cars, but there are two big shiny and red tables to sit at, too. You look at a pad that is their menu and check off what you want. There is a number on top that you remember. Then you put the paper through this slot. The workers look at it, cook your food and then call out your number. You pay and eat your food. If you watch inside the little building, you will see flames come up toward the ceiling. It is scary!

There are these birds that my dad calls "Char-Birds", because they hang out at the Char-Grill waiting for french fries to be thrown at them. It is fun to feed them. They're fat, of course.

One day, my dad went to this Devo concert and he got to meet them. They said that they were starving to death. They asked him where they could eat. He told them to go to Char-Grill and he told them how to get there. Later, he passed by (Char-Grill) and there was Devo standing outside. He didn't tell me if they were wearing their red, flower-pot hats. I bet they were.

I like Char-Grill, too. They are cheap and the food is good. If you are ever in Raleigh, you should go there.
